Mighty is... well, a retooled Sonic. First appearing in SegaSonic The Hedgehog, he didn't really do much.
After having to rework Sonic Clackers, Sonic had to get replaced, and who better to replace him with in a short
development timespan than a similar character they already had?
Unfortunately, that means his strength can't really get shown off in this game.
Mighty's reasons for coming to the island are basically nonexistent. All that the manual really says is that
he accidentally stumbles across it on one of his many explorations.
Wall Cling
Wall Jump
Mighty might not have much of an arsenal, but his wall jump makes him my #1 character.
If you hold up, the direction of the wall, and spam jump, you can go EXTREMELY fast upwards. Even faster than Charmy.
- In the Japanese manual, Mighty's hobby is listed as "Forest bathing", his likes are "Tranquility" and "Nature".
His purpose in life is said to be journying around the world.
He's apparently a calm person and doesn't like to be rough unless he absolutely has to.
- Mighty was the second earliest of the Chaotix to be created, alongside Ray The Flying Squirrel.
- One of Sonic's unseen character design concepts was an armadillo.
- Mighty shares nearly identical sprites with Sonic from the Clackers prototype.
Like Knuckles, he also shares edited special stage jumping sprites with Sonic from Sonic CD.
- Mighty is the only member of the Chaotix other than Knuckles to reappear in another Classic game.
- Mighty's official artwork is noticeably different in artstyle to the rest of the cast. This may be a leftover from Sonic Clackers.
- Mighty's name is misspelled as "Mighity" in the Japanese manual.
